Overview
At Village Empowerment Initiatives (VEI), our U.S. programs are designed to strengthen connections between Liberian and American communities while promoting education and development in Liberia. We strive to connect our American-born Liberian children with their cultural roots, fostering pride and a strong sense of identity. We engage U.S.-based Liberian families and allies in cultural heritage activities such as VEI’s Cultural Heritage Day-that showcase Liberian culture through language, food, storytelling, music, and more. Our VEI’s Field Day: a Fun Outdoor Activities day, Introduces and share childhood games, sports, and activities traditionally enjoyed by both adults and children in Liberia.
Through vision aligned partnerships and collective action in the U.S., VEI empowers Liberian communities both abroad and at home. We advocate for sustainable development in Liberia and work to build a resilient, informed network of supporters dedicated to creating a lasting impact. Together, we are committed to fostering positive change and enriching the lives of children and families in both Liberia and the United States.
